Sandwich Glass Museum, Sandwich, MA
About this project:
The Sandwich Glass Museum is a unique Cape Cod attraction, featuring exhibits of world-famous glass artists and interactive glassblowing demonstrations with techniques dating back to ancient Egyptian times. Due to the museum's popularity, renovation and expansion of the facility had become a necessity. To better accommodate visitors, additions to the museum include a two- story, glass-making demonstration auditorium, renovated office space, and a new 71-seat multimedia theatre to present the museum's film of America at the dawn of the Industrial Revolution.
Coastal Engineering's services included:
- Structural evaluation of existing building strength
- Structural engineering design and framing system
- Structural wind and seismic load analysis of new addition
- Geotechnical site evaluation.
